Many network marketers have discovered a very useful device on their telephone which can, almost like magic. . .
The magic device is the switch hook. Every phone has one. All you have to do is press it lightly, and the person you are talking to disappears forever. Its also known as hanging up. You never have to deal with them again.
Pick up the phone. Make those cold calls. If the person you reach has a bad attitude or starts to give you a hard time, just use the magic button and -- POOF! -- they're gone! If you don't want to be rude, then before you hang up, simply say, "Thank you for your time, but I don't think this opportunity is for you. Goodbye."
You'll be amazed at how much more confident you become after you do this a couple of times. It makes a tremendous difference in your tone of voice, which often communicates more than the words you use. Your tone of voice goes from a situation where you sound something like this:
"Please, please sign up so I can make my mortgage payment this month"
to a more powerful situation where you sound like this:
"I've got the best deal going, and if I think you're really qualified then I might let you in on it."
