So many people have a belief that you need to be on the groundfloor of a MLM or you won't make any money. I have been with 2 different MLM companys over the last 8 years and learned a tremendous amount about what I believe makes for a sound opportunity, the last criteria being is it groundfloor, meaning just getting started.
There is so much that goes into making a MLM company "magical", (duplicatable.) If the system (product, marketing plan, company, management, etc.) has not been proven and refined to the point of being so simple that anyone can do it, the whole process of getting product or service to the consumer will not duplicatable. This now means you and I recruit someone, there are problems, new recruit quits and you and I have to go out and recruit again. No one stays in and won't duplicate with people they know because of the problems they've had.
When you are talking about a groundfloor opportunity immediately a red flag of caution should go up. This is not to say that groundfloor is bad, it just means you need to take a very close look. Mainly because for a system to be refined requires years in business to set a track record and prove that the system is duplicatable. Generally a groundfloor company does not have this kind of track record and normally you have a lot of problems until the kinks get worked out. If the product, management, company etc. have stood the test of time this ususally indicates the system is fairly duplicatable. MLM is built on a very simple concept. Teach someone to teach someone to teach someone. If the company is new (groundfloor) then its hard to determine how duplicatable it really is.
I believe there are many great MLM opportunitys out there. I just wanted to point out that groundfloor does not necessarily mean big money!
