The Ultimate Home-Based Business?

Recently I attended a Home-Based Business seminar in Baltimore that was hosted by an organization whose purpose was to try to get people enrolled into their various programs. I'm sure these type of seminars are going on all across the country in one form or another. The programs they presented consisted of real-estate ventures, government auctions, 900 numbers and merchandise liquidation partnerships. On the day I attended about 750 people showed up at one of the major hotels on a Saturday morning to hear these rather slick speakers telling us how to get rich by enrolling in their programs. The same seminar was also to occur at different nearby locations on Sunday and Monday. Figuring that the Saturday seminar probably brought in the most people, I'm estimating that about 2,000 people showed up altogether for the three days.

What this indicates to me is that there are many, many people who are looking for financial alternatives. What it means to us, as network marketers, is that we have a wide open market of people to talk to about possibly the greatest home-based business method, this thing we call network marketing.

What I've learned over the years about choosing a network marketing company is that there are six criteria that needs to be considered before joining. First, are the products unique, consumable products that are somehow set apart from the others? Second, are there unlimited markets for these products? Third, is the company a solid company who has proven itself and not one starting a ground-breaking opportunity? Fourth, is the compensation plan fair enough where you can realize profits within a short period of time? Fifth, are you going to get help in the form of training and support from the company as well as your upline group? And sixth, is it the right TIME to get involved with a particular network marketing company? This is by far the most important consideration, in my opinion. The timing is critical for success in any business, whether it is network marketing or not. Some of the most financially successful people around today are where they are because they saw an opportunity, had a vision for the future, and then acted on the instincts of that vision. They focused on their vision and persisted until that vision became so clear in their mind that things started falling into place to fulfill that vision. I'm not saying they had an easy time of it, but by staying focused on their goals and vision, their success eventually came about. Yes, timing is a critical consideration in choosing when to get involved with a particular network marketing company. Those who choose to get started during the "explosion period" of a company's growth will reap much more financial reward than those who choose to get started during the "evening out" or "declining" periods. Knowing when the explosion occurs would involve studying the company's progress, following trends, and following your own instinct.

Hey - I just had a vision! What if those 2,000 people that went to the Home-Based Business seminar were to form a downline in a network marketing company. What a great start to a financial future that would be!!!
