Focusing your organization

In my short 5 years of experience with MLM I have found one thing that seems to help your organization more than anything. That is focusing your organization. By that I mean making sure that they know all they can about the product(s), about the company, and about the opportunity. If the are lacking in any one of these categories then it will show in the organization that they build. It is your responsibility as the sponsor to make sure that they do know all that is necessary. I'm not saying that if your product(s) have herbs in them that you should get a doctorate in herbology just to market the product(s). What should be done is take the time to learn as much as possible about the ingredients in your product. Take the time to go to the library. Knowledge on fire is an incredible thing to see.

Make sure your downline knows everything about the product(s). If at all possible, I strongly recommend having one Saturday training a month dedicated to nothing but the product(s). People cannot market something that they know nothing about.

In talking with people about their company, I have noticed one disturbing thing, most people cannot tell you who their company president is. Make sure that you sit down with a new recruit and tell them everything about the company. How long have you been in business, who the president is, who the vice president is, what the company motto is, etc. should be discussed. If they do not know about the company, then how can they effectively sponsor new people?

Teach them everything about the opportunity. Make sure they can explain the compensation program in detail. If you happen to be involved with a company that has a complex program then make sure that they know the basics first and as they progress explain the rest. I have talked to what seems to be an incredible number of people who cannot explain the compensation program in detail.

Now, not everyone can possibly know everything about a company. But, I think that you will agree, knowing as much as possible is important. And, I think that as their sponsors it is our responsibility to train, motivate and lead by example.

There is one more thing that will unfocus your organization, working more than one MLM at the time. It is impossible to effectively promote more than one company. Before long you are not sure which way to turn. It is difficult enough to build one strong organization. There is enough to learn already, don't make things more difficult than they have to be.

If your upline is not intelligent enough to do these things for you, then take the initiative and do it yourself. Wear the phone out looking for someone who will be responsible enough to show you all that you want. Do not let the failures of someone else destroy your success. Keep reaching for the top and someone will give you a hand, that's probably how they got there.
