Are you the perfect networker? Do you have all of the talents, skills, resources, and time that it takes to recruit, train, encourage, and motivate your networking organization? Fortunately for us, perfection is not required. If we have a strong desire to succeed, if we are willing to work hard to develop the abilities we have, and if we do not give up when we are discouraged, then we will be successful.
However, we are all aware of our shortcomings. There may be many things that you wish you could be better at. Are you afraid to talk in front of groups? Maybe you have trouble getting organized and motivated. Do you find that you have difficulty approaching potential business associates (prospects)?
We all have our weak areas, but we also have our strengths. And we can be much more productive by PARTNERING with someone else in our organization whose strengths and weaknesses compliment our own.
I am very fortunate to be blessed with a wife who is just as committed to our organization as I am. She has the ability to talk about our products and business opportunity with such conviction and excitement that people are drawn in just by her enthusiasm. She is a tremendous salesperson. I, on the other hand, am better at explaining facts, figures, and the compensation plan. By combining our efforts, and working together as a team, we are able to accomplish much more together than we could separately. This is true synergy.
But what if you are not married, or your spouse does not have the time or desire to work your business like you do? Simple, look for someone else in your organization to partner with.
Look for someone with skills and abilities that you do not have. For example, if you are terrific at recruiting, but just don't seem to have the patience to train those in your downline; partner with someone else in your group who has the desire to see leaders developed, and is willing to give them the teaching and encouragement they need.
Or perhaps you are terrified at the thought of talking to groups, but are very comfortable on the phone. You should find someone who is great at giving presentations, and work out an arrangement where YOU make appointments and do follow-up over the phone, and THEY make the presentations. You would then divide any distributors that enroll, and share the profits from any retail sales that are made. An added benefit of working with a partner is that you are less likely to procrastinate once you have made a commitment with another person.
Partnerships do not have to be formal; with papers drawn up by an attorney; just make it clear what each person is responsible to do, and how any profits are to be divided.
In Network Marketing, it is often said- "You are in business FOR yourself, but not BY yourself." By partnering with others you will find that the acronym for TEAM really holds true:
Together
Everybody
Achieves
More
