Rush To Judgment

When I first became involved in Network Marketing, I was VERY EXCITED about the opportunity that I had to present. One night I was calling some leads I had obtained and ran across a very interesting prospect.

I began qualifying the person, who told me they had a background in TV. A background in TV??? Oh MY!!!!! This has to be my lucky day!!! They were in the TV and film Industry...boy oh boy it keeps getting better. I quickly set up a appointment for the conference call with this person. I called back at the designated time and went thru with my presentation and then three wayed into my sponsor. My sponsor did his thing for about 15 minutes and everything was going GREAT!!! I had landed the BIG ONE!!!

Well my sponsor got into the prospects background.."I hear you are involved in the TV and Film industry", Oh yes I watch TV and movies all day long, said the prospect. WHAT! AAAARRRRGHHHH! I then felt like 10 cents.

Yes this really did happen and nearly destroyed my confidence. However, this incident really taught me the value of qualifying prospects and not to be so excited about sponsoring people that you rush to judgement about the prospect. You can lose a lot of valuable time, not to mention money. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season and a very prosperous New Year.
