One common question that was asked often is "will you be making money sponsoring people?" At times, it may be an uncomfortable question to answer because your answer, naturally is "yes." And people would get turned off by the idea that they're doing the hard work and you're raking in the profit. I have given this some considerable thoughts and find that it is helpful to come up with an analogy.
Let's say one day you walked into a McDonalds restaurant at lunchtime. You noticed a long line at register and people are waiting patiently for their turn. You wondered if this can be a profitable venture and would like to own a business like this. Upon investigating, you find that you'll need over one million dollars and that doesn't even guarantee a franchise. But you don't have $1 million. Say you have $5,000 availalble for investment. Your next choice would be to invest in McDonalds shares in the stock market. So you go to a broker and place an order to purchase $5,000 worth of shares (less commission) . Congrats! You're now a proud owner of McDonald!
What does McDonalds have to do with Network Marketing? Let's put it in another perspective. How will you make money from McDonalds? Simply by following the price of the shares in the stock market tables. But how does McDonalds really make money? Providing fast food at low prices. But who does the bulk of the work at McDonalds? Employees that are earning at or slightly above minimum wage. So the only work you have to do is to follow the stock prices and sleep well at night knowing that people earning $4.25 are working very hard to make you rich.
In Network Marketing, you invest in purchasing the starter kit and products (in most cases it's less than $5,000 to get started) and start selling and recruiting prospects. When you have finally signed up a distributor or two, you have to invest the time and money to train them to duplicate your methods. And see it to that your distributor sells and recruit and build a downline, and etc. and etc. How do you really make money? By working hard. How much can your distributor earn? You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping a fellow human being have the opportunity to earn far above the minimum wage.
In summary, with McDonalds, you're making money off peole earning minimum wages without doing any of the hard work yourself. In Network Marketing, if you don't help your downline, you won't make money. So the next time someone ask this question, remember this. You don't have to justify the profits from the downline because you EARNED it. Good luck!
