Calling/Mailing

From: Uprosper@aol.com

Hopefully the company you're working with has some kind of "teaser" mail out materials for you to work with. Because if you're doing only mailings, you need something that will get the prospect interested enough to take some action. The material "must" be feature orientated, not full of a bunch of "look how great we are, look how many years we been around, look at our super duper best ever thought of compensation plan, look at our products, the best god ever gave man, etc, etc! Companies are really great at blowing their own horns, to the detriment of those trying to build a business in this industry. People want to see within the first fifteen seconds of something they get in the mail, "what it's going to do for them"! All the other "data" comes later! They don't care one iota about the company in that first mailing, they want to know how is it going to benefit me, me, me!

If these benefits are served up tastefully, and hit their "hot buttons", you will be rewarded with and invitation to feed them a little more, and hopefully end up signing them into your company. So, if you're copy is benefit featured, you can do all right by mailing only. If it's not, then you might want to check out some outside help. There are companies out there, that produce some really good generic mailing pieces.

Since a good many of the UPC leads are people that have very little knowledge about the Networking Industry, we have been leaning towards not sending them a "UPC card" in the initial mailing, if, we are only mailing out materials. No need to distract them with two offers. However, we have not absolutely set this in firm conviction yet.

For the phone, we simply mention we understand they are interested in a home business, and ask them if this is correct. If they ask where we got their name, we tell them from a very successful company that refers people to us, who are looking for good home businesses. Trying to be conversational at all times, and not sounding like some telephone solicitor. They like hearing from ordinary people, and will become uptight if they detect they are talking to some phone pro. Att&T, Sprint, and the like, give them all that they want in those areas!
