I'm constantly amazed at how many network marketing distributors claim their opportunity is the best because you don't have to retail. What that means is that all they have is a big wholesale buyers club. There's nothing wrong with that, except that the only way the total volume will grow is by recruiting new people.
If you aren't interested in improving the volume in your network and increasing your bonus checks, then skip this article. However, if you are interested, then retailing is the answer.
Ugh! I know, you got into this business so you wouldn't have to peddle products. However, you're missing a great opportunity to really pump up those bonus checks. Are your products any good? Of course they are! Do you know anyone who could use them? Of course you do! So, what's stopping you? Fear! You're afraid that if you talk with them about your products, they will think badly of you. Really now . . . let's see, you market a product that is better than they can get anywhere else, at a fair price, and it would benefit them . . . hmmm, why would they think badly of you? Yes, they may, after looking at the product, say no. But, they may also say yes and you would have a customer. Just think of it, you could help your friends, family, and associates, while making a nice retail profit and increasing your personal volume. The best part is that you don't have to become a hard pitching salesperson. Just use the products yourself and relate the benefits you are seeing (if you are not seeing any benefits, then find another company with better products).
A great way to retail products is through testimonials. If your company has a tape or information line that gives product testimonials, you can use these tools to introduce people to your products. Brochures can work well too. Samples are another great way to introduce products.
Once you start retailing, your downline is going to see your actions and duplicate them. Imagine the effect this will have on your group volume. What if every one of your distributors started retailing an extra $100 a month? What would that do to your bonus check? Plus, keep in mind that if you are marketing consumable products, the majority of those customers are going to order every month. Wow!
So, here are the keys:
Retailing is easy in network marketing. You don't have to do a lot. Just get a few regular customers and teach your downline to do the same. It will have a huge impact on your volume and your check.
